Women’s Basketball Battles Endicott
Gulls use mid-game surge to push past Leopards, 75-51; three Leopards drop double-figures

BOSTON, Mass. – Libby Flemming and Emma Shinney of the Endicott Gulls women's basketball team dropped identical 16 point-outings en route to a 75-51 conference win over the Wentworth Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Gulls improve to 8-3 and stay undefeated in Conference of New England play (4-0). The Black & Gold fall to 2-9 overall and 0-4 in conference action.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- A three-point play by Shinney got the Gulls out to a 3-0 lead in the first frame before she dropped another two to later push the score to 5-2. Endicott extended the lead to 7-3 before a three by Taylor Garabedian cut the deficit to one at 7-6.
- After a three by the Gulls marked a 10-6 lead, Wentworth rattled off six-straight to hold a 12-10 lead. The Gulls knotted the score before another Shinney make re-gained Endicott a 14-12 lead. The two teams swapped scores following another two tie-ups by the Leopards before a three by Avery Brown gave the Gulls a 19-16 advantage after the first quarter.
- The two teams traded points to open the second quarter, working the score to 25-20 before four-straight from Flemming stretched Endicott's lead to 29-20. The two teams swapped once more before a three from Tenley Wallin extended the Gulls' advantage to 36-24. Another two before the break had the Gulls up 38-24 at the halfway mark.
- Endicott began the third quarter with a 10-0 run, featuring six points from Flemming, before a three-point play from Maddy Foster stopped the run at 48-27. The Gulls dropped three more points before a three from Brianna Carroll marked a 51-30 game. A three from Brown led a tight run (10-8) for the Gulls to finish the quarter with a 61-38 lead.
- Wentworth opened the fourth frame with a 6-2 run, cutting the gap at 63-44, before a three from Brown marked a 66-44 game. The two teams traded points to a 68-48 score before a short Endicott run had the Gulls close out with a 75-51 win. Flemming (8-10 FG) and Shinney (7-11 FG) led all scorers with 16 points while the latter earned a double-double adding in 10 boards. Foster (13 points) led a trio of Leopards in double-figures while Garabedian led with five rebounds.
