Mid-Game Surge Guides Suffolk over Women's Basketball
Rams pull away from Leopards late in second quarter; Gabby Amoddio ties game high with 15 points

BOSTON, Mass. – A mid-game surge by the Suffolk Rams women's basketball team guided the hosts to a 65-44 Conference of New England win over Wentworth Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon.
The Rams move over .500 to 12-11 overall (7-9 CNE). The Black & Gold slip to 2-21 overall (0-15 CNE).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Rams opened the contest with an 8-0 run before a trifecta by Brianna Carroll cut the deficit to 8-3. After the two teams swapped scores, a three by Ava Thurman marked a 13-7 lead for Suffolk. The two teams traded points to a 16-10 score after one.
- An opening score by Amanda DeAngelis was answered with a layup by Maddy Foster, marking an 18-12 game, before the two teams traded scores to a 20-16 score. A Taylor Garabedian make cut the deficit to 20-18 before Suffolk rattled off a 6-1 run to mark a 26-19. A three by Gabby Amoddio cut the deficit at 26-22 before three makes by Jordan Moreau helped the Rams pull away with an 11-0 run to 37-22 at the halfway mark.
- Five points from Amoddio sandwiched two free throws for the Rams, raising the score to 39-27, before Suffolk went on a 4-1 run to push their lead to 43-28. The Rams raced out 52-30 lead with a 9-2 run, capped by a Thurman make, before a three by Foster marked a 52-33 score.
- The two teams traded baskets in the fourth quarter, resulting in a 13-11 edge for Suffolk, as a Carroll trifecta capped a 65-44 final. Moreau and Amoddio led their respective teams with a game-high 15 points apiece. Foster added 11 points for Wentworth while three other student-athletes finished in double-figures for the Rams.
