BOSTON, Mass. – Graduate student Hope Alto (Boston, Mass.) scored six goals in both team's respective season openers as the Regis Pride women's lacrosse team visited the Wentworth Institute of Technology and came away with a 13-2 victory on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Regis boosted out to a 5-0 lead across the first quarter, opening the scoring at the 10:24 mark, with three of the five goals off the stick of Alto. The Leopards ended their streak as sophomore Olivia Shultz (Lynn, Mass.) netted the hosts' first strike of the game on a free position shot with 17 seconds left in the opening frame.
  • Alto tallied three more times in the second quarter while senior Madeline Conover (West Newbury, Mass.) added one of her own, her second of the game while being shorthanded, as the Pride held a 10-1 advantage at the halfway mark.
  • Senior Kylee Marley (Westerly, R.I.) potted the only goal of the third quarter just 22 seconds in, pushing the visitors' lead to 11-1, before scoring again at 12:37 of the fourth quarter to mark a 12-1 score. Junior Camille Pollak (Northfield, N.H.) scored on a free position shot for the Leopards at the 8:17 mark before another Marley goal with just over two minutes to go gave Regis a 13-2 lead.
  • Junior Hayden Saunders (Old Lyme, Conn.) finished with five saves for Wentworth in the setback, while sophomore Daniela Mazo (Bridgeport, Conn.) stopped one for the Pride before freshman Allayna Martone (Elkridge, Md.) posted eight saves in relief.
