Women's Lacrosse Makes Program History with Shutout of Notre Dame (Md.)
Leopards post first-ever shutout with 12-0 win over the Gators; Aliviah MacCormack and Tessa Wilkie each score three times; Lily Cohen makes four saves

BALTIMORE, Md. – Paced by three goals apiece from Aliviah MacCormack and Tessa Wilkie, the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team posted its first shutout in program history as the Leopards blanked Notre Dame (Md.), 12-0, to wrap up their spring break trip.
With the win the Leopards improve to 3-1 on the season, while the Gators drop to 0-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sydney Vega got Wentworth on the board just 1:06 into the contest. A little more than five minutes later, Shayleah Gunning-Lavoie took a feed from Grace Sweet and put the Leopards ahead, 2-0 before Wilkie connected on a free-position shot with 5:50 left. MacCormack completed the first quarter scoring with a goal, which was assisted by Sweet, with 2:29 left.
- The Leopards put up six goals in the second quarter as Wilkie scored with 13:13 left to open the scoring. Vega and Grace Del Pilar scored 10 seconds apart to push the lead to 6-0 before MacCormack scored 34 seconds later, making it 8-0. Vega set up Sweet with 7:49 left and Anna Faberlle fed MacCormack with 6:13 left to extend the lead to 10-0, which is how it stayed at the half.
- After a scoreless third quarter, the Black & Gold tacked on a pair of goals late. Wilkie scored with 3:55 left and Gunning-Lavoie rounded out the scoring with 2:10 remaining.
- Vega finished with two goals and an assist while Sweet had a goal and two assists. Gunning-Lavoie added two goals.
- Del Pilar was the team leader in draw controls with four, while Kaitlyn Kozan and Ellie White caused four and three turnovers, respectively. Lily Cohen made four saves in the win. The Leopards had a 26-7 shot advantage.
SERIES HISTORY
- Today was the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
