BEVERLY, Mass. – Five goals by Bailey Sheehan led all goal scorers and helped the Endicott Gulls women's lacrosse team to a 21-1 Conference of New England win over Wentworth Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Gulls boost their marks to 10-3 overall and 6-0 in CNE play. The Leopards fall to 5-8 overall (1-5 CNE).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Endicott rattled off seven straight goals in the first quarter, including four from Sheehan, to hold a 7-0 lead with 1:35 left. In the second frame, the Gulls scored another five straight to push their lead to 12-0 by the 7:34 mark before a tally by Grace Sweet at the 4:13 mark got the Leopards on the board.
- After holding a 13-1 advantage at the half, Endicott added three goals in the third quarter and finished the fourth with a 5-0 run, giving themselves a 21-1 lead with 34 ticks on the clock.
- Shayleah Gunning-Lavoie led Wentworth with three draw controls. Mia Zoghbi and Hayden Saunders each registered three ground balls while the latter made 11 saves between the pipes. In relief for Saunders, E Bradford added three stops in just under 20 minutes of action.
SERIES NOTES:
- Tonight marked the 13th all-time meeting between the two teams.
