Regis Holds off Women's Soccer
Pride fend off late Leopard rush in 2-1 win; Bryce Bateman scores for Wentworth

WESTON, Mass. – A pair of goals scored 4:13 apart lifted the Regis College (6-5-3) women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology (4-4-4) in non-conference action Wednesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wentworth controlled play early on, with a shot attempt that went wide and a corner kick. In a six-minute span, the Leopards put three shots on net, however, Regis keeper Alison Jerram made three saves.
- The Leopards continued to apply pressure, putting two more shots on net in a span of 1:44; both of which were saved by Jerram. The Pride had their first shot attempt in the 43rd minute where Claire Reif came up with the save. A minute and 34 seconds later, the hosts nearly went ahead, 1-0, however a shot attempt was cleared away by a ack line defender.
- Shortly after a corner kick attempt, Regis broke the ice when Brooke McAloney scored from Alexis Sherry. The goal came with 1:57 left in the first half.
- In the 46th minute, Wentworth had a chance to tie the game but Jenny Montville's shot was saved by Jerram. At the 47:16 mark, Regis countered with a goal from Sienna Santiago to make it 2-0.
- The Leopards looked to pull within a goal with a pair of shots on net; one by Erin Londregan and the other by Rachel Hagerty. However, Jerram came up with a pair of saves. At the 64:29 mark, the Black & Gold got on the board when Bryce Bateman scored off a feed from Lily Carlson.
- In the final eight minutes the Leopards had a pair of shot attempts that both went wide of the mark.
- Reif made three saves for Wentworth while Jerram turned aside nine shots for the Pride. Wentworth had a 15-12 shot advantage.
ALL-TIME SERIES:
- Tonight marked the 14th all-time meeting and first since 2010 between the two schools Wentworth leads 11-3.
