Wentworth Gets Back on Winning Track With 7-2 Win Over Regis
Leopards take two of three doubles matches and five of six singles matches to halt two-match losing streak
BOSTON, Mass – A solid team effort by the Leopard women's tennis team helped snap a two-match losing streak as Wentworth defeated Regis, 7-2.
The Leopards began the match with a 2-0 lead, as the Pride had five players and had to default number six singles and number three doubles, and increased their lead to 3-1 at the conclusion of doubles play when Angela Brandt (Northport, Maine) and Jeannine Stover (Calais, Maine) won at number two doubles.
Brandt, Lydia Caserta (Hudson, Mass.), Meredith Gratton (West Chazy, N.Y.), and Natalya Cappellini (Falmouth, Mass.) won at numbers two through five to give the Leopards a 5-1 advantage in singles play.
