QUINCY, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's tennis team dropped just one set on the day, en route to sweeping a Commonwealth Coast Conference contest at Eastern Nazarene, 9-0. The win snaps a three-match skid for the Leopards, who improve to 3-4 overall (1-3 CCC) and sees the Lions fall to 1-6 (0-5).

Sophomore Caitlin Corcoran (Brockton, Mass.) teamed with junior Virginia Ofer (Cooperstown, N.Y.) to pick up an 8-1 win at number one over sophomores Kathryn McLaughlin (Huntington Station, N.Y.) and Tressa Burrello (Hermiker, N.Y.). Senior Olivia Hegner (Medford, Mass.) and junior Val Maccarone (Cranston, R.I.) won, 8-1 at number three over freshmen Sarah Layton (Bonney Lake, N.Y.) and Hannah Lariviere (Biddeford, Maine) before senior Deborah Massaro (Stony Point, N.Y.) and sophomore Nicole McColgan (Tewksbury, Mass.) completed the sweep with an 8-4 win at number two over senior Juju Atwater (Weymouth, Mass.) and senior Kelsey Waddle (Olathe, Kan.).

Corcoran bested McLaughlin at number one singles, 6-2, 6-2, before freshman Andrea Welsh (Rogers, Ark.) clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Lariviere at number six. Massaro defeated Burrello, 6-0, 6-1 at number two, McColgan defeated Layton, 6-2, 7-5 at number three, Ofer rallied to defeat Atwater 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) at number four, and junior Marisa Page (Warwick, R.I.) defeated Waddle, 7-5, 6-1, at number five.

Wentworth hosts Salve Regina tomorrow, while Eastern Nazarene hosts Regis on Monday.
