Sollecito Earns Third Straight All-CCC Nod

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Ali Sollecito (Taunton, Mass.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's team has been named to the 2019 Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Conference Team. Sollecito earned the honor when the conference released its all-conference teams and major award winners on Tuesday afternoon.

Sollecito's selection to the All-CCC team marks the third straight season she has been honored while her second team nod was a repeat performance from a season ago after being named to the first team as a freshman. A mainstay at No. 1 singles throughout her career, Sollecito posted a 6-5 record this season, which included a 3-3 mark in league play. One of her three conference wins came over Roger Williams freshman Alessia Cahoon, who was tabbed as the CCC Rookie of the Year. In that match, Sollecito dropped the first set, 1-6, before forcing a tiebreaking set with a 6-4 win in the second set. In the tiebreaker she was down, 6-9, however, staved off match point to take a 14-12 win. She also had three wins playing at No. 1 doubles.

For her career, Sollecito is tied for third all-time in singles wins with 24, while her .571 singles winning percentage is the second highest in program history.

Wentworth finished the fall campaign with a 4-8 record, which surpassed last season's win total and is the equivalent to the previous two seasons' win total combined.
