WENHAM, Mass. – In its first match in two weeks, the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's tennis team (0-5, 0-4 Commonwealth Coast Conference) dropped a 9-0 decision to Gordon (4-3, 3-1) in CCC action Saturday afternoon.
Doubles play saw senior Hannah Erickson (Columbia, Conn.) and sophomore Ele Orfanini (Miami, Fla.) fall, 2-8, at No. 2. At No. 3, freshman Kiara Hima (Oakville, Conn.) and junior Kirstin Gramajo (Boston, Mass.) were defeated, 1-8, while, at No. 1, senior Ali Sollecito (Taunton, Mass.) teamed with sophomore Morgan Collins (Warwick, R.I.) and fell, 4-8.
Collins was defeated at No. 2 singles, 0-6, 0-6, Erickson lost at No. 4, 2-6, 3-6, Sollecito was defeated at No. 1, 5-7, 1-6, Orfanini fell at No. 4, 0-6, 2-6, while senior CiCi Deakin (Standish, Maine) lost at No. 5, 0-6, 2-6), and Hima was defeated at No. 6, 2-6, 1-6.
Wentworth is at Endicott on Wednesday.
