Women's Indoor Track & Field Competes at Lyon Invitational
Leopards record six top-five finishes and set a program record in the non-team scoring event
NORTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's indoor track & field team competed on Saturday at the Lyon Invitational, hosted by Wheaton College.
The non-scoring event saw five student-athletes as well as a relay team finish in the top five in their respective events. Additionally, Tati Sicard broke her week-old record in the weight throw.
Wentworth's top event was the 200M dash, as the Leopards finished third, fourth, and fifth. Rachel Hagerty picked up a third-place finish with a time of 31.28, followed by Annabelle Mendez, who was fourth with a time of 31.65. Finishing fifth was Makayla Gasper (32.89).
In the 60M hurdles, Laci Santos notched a fifth-place finish, finishing with a time of 10.27. Sicard finished fourth in the shot put with a best throw of 10.25M. Her program-record 11.49M in the weight throw placed her seventh.
Olivia Holley, Sydney Mercadante, Mendez, and Selma Moutaouakkil competed in the 4X200M relay, finishing fifth (2:02.22).
