Women’s Volleyball Claims AVCA Team Academic Award
Wentworth earns second-ever AVCA Team Academic Award, first since 2020, after championship-caliber 2023 season
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) today announced its annual Team Academic Awards, sponsored by Intent. The awards recognize men's, women's, and beach volleyball programs across the NCAA's three divisions, the NAIA, junior colleges, and boys' and girls' high school divisions that maintain a year-long grade-point average (GPA) of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or 4.10 or higher on a 5.0 scale). In record-breaking fashion, more than 1,400 teams were honored by the association this year.
For the first time since 2020 and the second time in the program's history, the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's volleyball team earned the AVCA Team Academic Award. The Black & Gold hauled home the accolade after posting a 3.41 cumulative GPA as a team.
