Zweifler Sets Program Mark as Women's Volleyball Bests Emmanuel
Leopards soar to four-set win over Saints; Amanda Zweifler sets program-record ten service aces

BOSTON, Mass. – Led by an all-time program-best ten service aces by Amanda Zweifler, the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's volleyball team (1-0) picked up where they left off last season, besting crosstown rival Emmanuel (0-1) in four sets Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The hosts grabbed 12 of the first 13 points in the first set, with five off of service aces from Zweifler, before two service aces from Olivia Vaughn and kills by Kate McLane and Emma Sanders pushed the commanding lead to 17-2. Three service aces later helped the Saints close the gap at 22-8 but kills from Vaughn and Riley Schoonmaker helped clinch a 25-9 win.
- After going down 4-2 in the second frame, the Leopards rattled off eight straight points, including four total and two apiece on kills from McLane and Sanders. A kill by Helen Barthe pushed the lead to 15-10 before a batch of kills from Schoonmaker and McLane extended the score to 22-10. A service ace by Zweifler marked a 25-12 final.
- Emmanuel jumped out to an 8-3 lead in the third set, continuing the lead to 10-5 and later a 13-8 score. Three service aces cut the Leopards' deficit to 13-12 before the Saints extended the score to 18-12 on five straight points. Emmanuel ended the set scoring seven straight points to take a 25-14 set win.
- A kill by McLane marked a 5-3 lead for Wentworth in the fourth set before the two teams juked out tie scores, bringing the set to a 10-10 knot. Two kills from McLane later gave Wentworth a 16-13 lead before the Saints tied the score at 16 apiece. After the visitors took a 19-17 lead, two kills apiece from Barthe and Sanders gave the Leopards a 22-19 lead. The Black & Gold held on for a 25-21 set win.

- The Black & Gold have taken four straight matchups against the Saints.
