Women's Volleyball Sweeps Curry on Senior Day
Leopards breeze by Colonels and honor Ashley Cao, Lexi Zabloudil, Helen Barthe, Ema Thompson, Sydney Brooke, and Abby Maher as part of Senior Day

BOSTON, Mass. – A balanced attack from the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's volleyball team (13-8, 3-1 CNE) led to a breeze of conference rival Curry (1-18, 0-4 CNE) in straight sets Saturday morning.
Prior to the match, the Leopards honored seniors Ashley Cao, Helen Barthe, Lexi Zabloudil, Ema Thompson, Sydney Brooke, and Abby Maher, who all played a role in today's sweep.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two teams swapped scores to open the first set before errors gave the Leopards an 8-4 lead. A kill by Barthe continued the score to 11-9 before the Black & Gold rattled off 14 of the next 19 points, including kills by Cao, Maher, Thompson, and Clairissa Taylor, to claim a 25-13 set win.
- After the Colonels took a 2-1 edge in the second frame, the Leopards scored nine straight, marking a 10-2 score, before extending the score to 17-3 later in the set. A finish by Thompson marked a 22-4 score before two kills from Barthe claimed a 25-7 set win.
- Wentworth shot out to an 11-3 lead in the third set before two finishes from Barthe marked a 14-4 lead. Kills from Cao and Thompson pushed the advantage to 20-6 before a sting of errors plagued the Colonels and earned the Leopards a 25-12 set win.
SERIES NOTES:
- The Leopards dominate the all-time series, 14-1.
