The first four-year student-athletes to come through the women's cross country program, Megan Leger and Erin MacLean competed at the NCAA East Regionals
HOPKINTON, N.H. – Late in the summer of 2021, Wentworth Institute of Technology made the decision to add women's cross country as a varsity sport to bolster sports sponsorship numbers. In order to field a team, student-athletes – both returning and recruited – from the mixed track & field team were asked to join. Fast forward to today and two of those student-athletes – Megan Leger and Erin MacLean, who are both sprinters by nature – wrapped up their careers as the first, four-year members of the Leopard women's cross country team. The duo competed in their final race at the NCAA East Regional Championships, a 6K race held at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds.
