Since arriving on the Wentworth campus, she has been instrumental in developing workshops and bringing in guest speaker for both new and returning student-athletes, overhauled the end-of-season evaluation process, worked closely with the Office of Student Life in an effort to have both departments working closely in many areas, has served on many Institute-wide committees, and formed the department’s relationship with the Special Olympics which sees Leopard student-athletes host annual clinics in soccer and basketball for nearly 300 Special Olympians annually.

Prior to joining the Leopard staff Ferrara spent 13 seasons as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Curry College where she compiled a 117-116-13 (.502) record, which included a 79-45-11 (.626) mark from 2003-2009. In that span her teams won 13 games three times and qualified for the ECAC Tournament in 2007 and 2008. She was honored by her peers as the CCC Coach of the Year in both 2000 and 2003.

Off the field Ferrara served as Curry’s Senior Women’s Administrator from 2000-2012 where she was responsible for coordinating NCAA grants and speakers for student-athlete programs. Additionally, she assisted in hiring staff members within the department, coordinated work-study employees and served as an on-site administrator for multiple sports. She also served as the Colonels’ Director of Club Sports from 2010-2012 and the Director of Intramurals from 1999-2010. As the director of club sports she was responsible for creating a policy manual, managing budgets, handling logistics such as transportation and facility schedules, and performing end of the season evaluations.

As the liaison to Curry’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, she scheduled and facilitated monthly SAAC meetings, served as a liaison to various departments within the Student Affairs division, and was the coordinator of all of Curry’s student-athlete community service programs.

Ferrara earned her Bachelor’s degree in athletic administration from Salem State in 1994 where she played on three Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference championship teams and appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 1990, 1991, and 1992. After graduation she taught in the Winthrop Public School System at both the middle school and high school levels as well as assisting with the girls’ soccer team. She resides in her native Winthrop, Mass., with her daughter, Samantha.
