Azzano Named ECAC Northeast Goaltender of the Week

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Freshman goaltender Chris Azzano (Oshawa, Ont.) has been named the ECAC Northeast Goaltender of the Week for his play the week of February 7-13.  This marks the third time this season he has been honored, having been named the league's goaltender of the week once and the league's rookie of the week on one occasion earlier this season.

Azzano played all 120 minutes in a 2-0 week for the Leopards, stopping 44 of the 47 shots he faced for a 1.50 goals against average and a .936 save percentage.  In Wentworth's 5-1 over Suffolk, he needed to make just 15 saves before closing the week with a 29-save performance in a 4-2 win over Becker that clinched a home playoff game for the Leopards in the first round of the ECAC Northeast Tournament.

Playing in 19 games for the 11-8-4 (8-3-1 ECAC Northeast) Leopards, Azzano is 10-6-3 with a 2.52 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.  Wentworth closes out the regular season this week, beginning with a home game against Salve Regina on Thursday.
