Miller Named ECAC Northeast Goaltender of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. – After helping the Wentworth Institute of Technology hockey team to a 2-0 week and running its win streak to four games, senior goalie Joel Miller (Calgary, Alta.) has been named the ECAC Northeast Goaltender of the Week for games played from February 1-7.

Miller, who earns the honor for the second time this season, stopped a career-high 38 saves in a 4-3 win over Endicott, which included three saves in the game's final 75 seconds while the Gulls were attempting to tie the contest. He followed that up with a 37-save performance in a 3-1 triumph over Suffolk with 29 of his saves coming over the final two periods. Miller helped keep the Rams off the scoreboard over the final 52:49 of the contest. In two games he had a goals against average of 2.00 and a save percentage of .949. Miller also picked up his 30th career victory in the win over Suffolk which puts his in fourth place on the program's all-time victory list.

Over the course of the Leopards' four-game win streak, Miller has a goals against average of 1.75 and a save percentage of .954, making 30-plus saves in each of those contests. In 15 games (13 starts) he is 7-5-1 with a 2.75 goals against average and a .917 save percentage to go along with three shutouts. Miller has played in 68 career contests, making 60 starts and is 30-23-5 with a 2.55 goals against average and a .910 save percentage to go along with six shutouts.

Wentworth looks to extend its winning streak on Saturday when the Leopards travel to league-leading Nichols.
