Helena Iaquinta was named the head coach of the Wentworth Institute of Technology women’s lacrosse team in May of 2012 and will be charged with leading the Leopards into their first year of varsity play in 2013.

Iaquinta joined the Leopard staff as an assistant coach during the fall of 2011 and served as the co-head coach in the spring of 2012 when Wentworth completed its second season as an intercollegiate club program.

A former standout at the College of Wooster, Iaquinta played in 68 games for the Fighting Scots, scoring 117 goals and assisting on 26 others for 143 career points. During her junior season she recorded 38 points (32 goals and six assists), which was good enough to earn Honorable Mention All-North Coast Athletic Honors. She closed out her career in style by being named both the 2006 NCAC Offensive Player of the Year (and a First Team All-NCAC selection) and an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region selection after scoring 44 goals and adding 13 assists for 57 points. In her four seasons at Wooster the Fighting Scots posted a 46-14 record, which included a pair of NCAC Tournament Championships and a pair of NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament berths. In her sophomore season the team set the program record for wins in a season with 13, finishing 13-4. She presently ranks 14th on the program's all-time goals scored list and her 44 goals during her senior campaign are the 12th most in a single season for the Fighting Scots.

Upon graduating in 2006 with her Bachelor's degree in history, Iaquinta remained at Wooster as an assistant coach for two seasons where she helped the team to a 12-5 record and both an NCAC title and an NCAA berth in 2007, followed by a 10-6 mark in 2008 where the Fighting Scots were defeated by Ohio Wesleyan, 14-13, in triple overtime in the NCAC championship game. Iaquinta went on to receive her Master's degree in college student personnel from Bowling Green in 2010.

Iaquinta was a three-sport (field hockey, indoor track, girls' lacrosse) athlete at Nashua High School. In addition to being named a captain of the girls lacrosse team her senior year, she also was named all-state elite and earned All-Academic honors from US Lacrosse in 2002.
