Coming off the finest season in program history in 2015, Bobby Desilets enters his fifth season as Wentworth’s head coach and his eighth season as a collegiate head coach.

The 2015 campaign began with a 4-0 start, however a 1-2-1 record in the next four contests put the Leopards at 5-2-1. Wentworth then rolled off 10 straight victories to earn the number two seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament. The Leopards, playing in their first home playoff game since 2005, defeated Curry, 4-0, before playing to a 0-0 draw with Gordon in the semifinals with the Fighting Scots advancing on penalty kicks.

Wentworth was rewarded for its fine season by being named the top seed in the ECAC Division III Tournament and earned a 2-1, double overtime win over Smith in the quarterfinals before falling to the University of New England in the semifinals. The Leopards finished the 2015 campaign at 17-3-2, tying the program record for wins in a season.

Desilets was named both the CCC and ECAC New England Coach of the Year and seven of his players were named All-CCC, including Mary Pastorelli who was named both the CCC and ECAC Defensive Player of the Year and Madyson Reno, who earned CCC Rookie of the Year honors. Pastorelli and classmate Morgan Miller also earned All-New England honors.

During the 2012 season he served as co-head coach with Angel Ayres, who served as the program’s only head coach until stepping down to concentrate full-time on her duties as director of athletics. The Leopards finished the season with a 6-11-2 overall record and a 4-5 mark in conference play. Finishing sixth in the CCC, Wentworth earned its first CCC Tournament berth since 2009 and battled third-seeded Endicott to a 0-0 draw in the CCC Quarterfinals before falling, 3-1, on penalty kicks.

The 2013 campaign, Desilets' first leading the program solo, saw the Black & Gold finish with a 7-9-4 record, which included seven overtime games. Four of Wentworth's losses came by a single goal, including dropping a 1-0 overtime decision to eventual CCC Champion Endicott in the semifinals of the CCC Tournament. That loss came on the heels of a dramatic, 2-1, double overtime win at the University of New England in the quarterfinals giving the Leopards their first postseason win since 2009.

The 2014 campaign which saw the Leopards finish .500 for the first time since 2007, reach the finals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament for the first time since 2003, and make an appearance in the ECAC Tournament for the first time since 2005.

Picked to finish fifth in the CCC Preseason Poll, the Leopards posted a 4-5-3 record in league play which earned them the number seven seed in the conference tournament. In the quarterfinal round the Black & Gold won at Endicott for the first time in program history, stunning the second-seeded Gulls by a 4-2 score and earning their second straight trip to the conference semifinals. Against third-seeded Eastern Nazarene, Wentworth tied the game with 22 minutes left in regulation, and, after neither team scored during the remainder of regulation or in overtime, the game ended in a 1-1 draw before the Leopards advanced to the finals for the first time since 2003, 5-4, on penalty kicks.

Wentworth and top-seeded Roger Williams played a scoreless match until the upset-minded Leopards got on the board with 7:47 remaining in the contest. Wentworth looked set to win its first-ever conference championship and pull off three upsets in the span of a week, however the Hawks got the equalizer with 21 seconds left to send the game to overtime. Despite chances by both teams in the extra sessions, the game ended in a 1-1 draw and Roger Williams claimed the title on penalty kicks (4-1).

Desilets came to Wentworth after having served as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at neighboring Newbury College for three seasons. During his time with the Nighthawks, he improved the team's record from 4-10-2 in his first season to the program's first winning season in 2011 season (8-7-1) and advanced to the New England Collegiate Conference Tournament in each season. In each season the team's goal output increased and the number of goals allowed decreased.

His first recruiting class featured the 2010 NECC Rookie of the Year and his recruiting efforts for the 2011 season paid off as he had the conference's leading scorer among freshman and a Second Team All-NECC selection.

Prior to arriving at Newbury Desilets spent two seasons at Lesley University where he spent the 2007 season as an assistant men's soccer coach and the 2008 season as an assistant women's soccer coach. While with the women's team, the Lynx had a program-best record of 16-3-2 and he helped recruit the 2009 NECC Rookie of the Year.

A Burrillville, R.I., native, Desilets was a four-year standout in men's soccer at Bowdoin College, helping the Polar Bears to a 43-17-5 record during his career and an appearance in the 2003 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament. During his junior season he was named both First Team All-New England Small College Athletic Conference and Third Team All-New England. Desilets etched his name into Bowdoin's record book as he holds the program record for assists in a game with three, is third on the single-season list for goals scored (12; 2003), and sixth on the single-season list for assists (seven; 2002). Additionally, his 28 points in 2003 puts him fourth on the Polar Bears' single-season list and he ranks seventh in program history with 66 career points. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in both Economics and History from Bowdoin in 2005 and earned his Master's degree from Northeastern University in 2015.

Outside of collegiate coaching experience he is the former Girls Director of Coaching for the FC Boston Bolts and coaches their U-12 team. Desilets has been involved with the Scorpions Soccer Club in the past where he has coached the U-11 boys group and the U-18 and U-17 girls’ groups and is an evaluator with the Massachusetts Olympic Development Program. Presently he coaches for Global Premier Soccer.

In addition to his duties as women’s soccer coach, Desilets oversees all fundraising campaigns for the department and is in charge of contest management during the winter season.
