Black History Month Student-Athlete Spotlight: Augustin Edwin, Jr.
Meet Leopard sophomore men's soccer student-athlete Augustin Edwin, Jr., as part of our celebrating black student-athletes during Black History Month
In honor of Black History Month, Wentworth is celebrating some of our notable black student-athletes who have made an impact in their respective sports and in the Wentworth community. Today we highlight sophomore Augustin Edwin, Jr., of the men's soccer team.
Why Wentworth?
- I wanted to attend the school that would give me the best opportunity at a job after graduation. Wentworth has an amazing co-op program and a high percentage of their students land good jobs after graduation. It was an easy choice.
Favorite snack?
- Tamarind balls (Caribbean candy)
Your hype song?
- Hopeless by Yung Niddy
Do you sing in the shower or in the car? Or both?
- Both, but I get lit in the car for sure
Is there a tradition, event, or food you enjoy with family and/or friends to celebrate your heritage?
- Normally some of my family comes together on Thanksgiving, but we don't eat any of the Traditional American food like turkey or mashed potatoes. Our experience is more like a Caribbean feast.
Any game day superstitions?
- I always feel like the way I put my game socks on will determine if we win or lose
If you could have dinner with anyone in history, who would it be?
- Alive I would choose Kanye West, but from the past probably Alfredo Bowman
Could you share something about yourself you would like people to know?
- I'm St. Lucian, for everyone who guesses my nationality wrong.
