BOSTON, Mass. – Senior shortstop Jon Spitz (Hanover, Mass.) has earned a spot on the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week for his play during the week of March 10-16. He becomes the third player in as many season to be selected for this team, joining Alex Wong in 2012 and Jake Mailman in 2013.

Spitz, who also earned Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week honors, batted .500 (15-for-20), with one double, one triple, seven RBI, 11 runs scored and two stolen bases to help the Leopards close out a successful spring break trip to Florida with a 6-2 week. He registered six consecutive multiple-hit games and either scored or drove in one run in each of the Leopards' eight contests.  His top performance was a seven-hit effort in a doubleheader sweep of Penn State-Altoona. Spitz, who also committed just one error in 29 chances over the course of the week, returned from the Sunshine State hitting .514.

Wentworth sits at 7-3 and, after a postponement at Brandeis on Wednesday, opens its northern schedule on Friday afternoon with a game against Fitchburg State which will be played at Franklin Pierce University.
