PAXTON, Mass. – The Wentworth men's tennis team began its spring season in fine fashion on Sunday, downing Anna Maria, 9-0, in non-conference action.

The Leopards took the three doubles matches and never looked back, as freshman Jia Lee (Weymouth, Mass.) teamed with junior Matt Levine (Brockton, Mass.) to take an 8-1 win at number three. Senior Joe Centola (Hopkinton, Mass.) and junior Dave Filar (Wolcott, Conn.) teamed to win, 8-5, at number one before freshman Dylan Melnik (Wake Forest, N.C.) and sophomore Andy Chen (New Taipei City, Taiwan) won, 8-5, at number one.

Filar gave the Leopards a 4-0 lead when he claimed a victory at number three singles due to retirement. Both senior Nate Gove (Scarborough, Maine) and Lee won their matches (number one and number six, respectively) in straight sets with both needing a tiebreaker in the second set. Centola (number two), Melnik (number five), and Chen (number six) claimed singles victories as well, to complete the sweep.
