Women's History Month Student-Athlete Spotlight: Virginia Partlow

Women's History Month Student-Athlete Spotlight: Virginia Partlow

In honor of Women's History Month, Wentworth is celebrating some of our notable female student-athletes who have made an impact in their respective sports and in the Wentworth community. Today we highlight sophomore Virginia Partlow of the rowing team.

Why Wentworth?

  • They have a great architecture program and I have always dreamt of going to school in Boston. Furthermore, they had a rowing program I could be a part of and still manage my academics and major which was important because I have been on a team since 6th grade so the sport is very much part of my life.

Favorite snack?

  • Fruit, really any kind. Watermelon is my favorite.

Your hype song?

  • Legends by Atlas and We're Not Gonna Take it by Twisted Sister.

Do you sing in the shower or in the car? Or both?

  • I sing in both. Jam sessions can be anywhere.

What is your favorite spot in Boston or on campus?

  • The Charles River is my favorite spot in the city, though I have a lot to explore still.

Any game day superstitions?

  • If I don't wear my certain clothes, especially my wind pants then I won't have near as much a chance of winning. Essentially, if I don't have my good luck charms, then I won't have good luck.

Female Role Model?

  • I have a lot, and none really stand out from the others. Strong, powerful, intelligent, compassionate women in general serve as role models to me.

Could you share something about yourself you would like people to know?

  • A few interesting things about me: I am the oldest sibling in my family and have a pet dog. I am a resident assistant here at Wentworth and a member of a few different clubs such as WIT Circle K and AIAS. I have only been outside the country twice, one of those times on a cruise. I am a sophomore in Architecture here at Wentworth.
