SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference today announced the 2016 CCC Baseball All-Conference Teams and major award winners. Student-athletes from all nine CCC baseball teams were represented on the all-league teams.

Endicott's Mike Kochiss (Fairfield, Conn.) was named the CCC Player of the Year and Western New England's David Cherry (Southbury, Conn.) earned Pitcher of the Year honors. Cherry's teammate on the Golden Bears pitching staff, Bob Hamel (Southwick, Mass.) was voted the Rookie of the Year and Jeremy Wagner (Oklahoma City, Okla.) was selected as the league's 2016 Senior Student-Athlete. Western New England head coach Dan Gomez took home Coach of the Year and Endicott and Wentworth were both given Team Sportsmanship awards.

Voting for the All-CCC teams and each of the major awards was conducted by the conference's nine baseball head coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

Wentworth placed two players on the All-CCC teams as senior Corey Jerolmon (New Milford, Conn.) was named second team all-conference as a relief pitcher and classmate Johnny Ryan (Brandt Rock, Mass.) picked up third team honors at first base.

Jerolmon enjoyed the finest season of his career, making 11 appearances with a 2-4 record and one save and a 2.43 earned run average in 33.1 innings of work. Three of his appearances were starts and two of those starts were complete games. Opponents hit a paltry .210 against him and in his final appearance, he allowed one run on three hits in a 1-0 loss at Endicott.

In 30 career appearances (nine starts, two complete games), Jerolmon finished with a 4-8 record with a pair of saves, which tied him for fifth on the program's all-time list.

After being used as a designated hitter, first baseman, and pitcher during his first three seasons, Ryan played 28 games at first base this season and was the designate hitter in three others. He enjoyed the finest offensive season of his career as he batted .309 (29-for-94) with seven doubles, one triple, one home run, three stolen bases, 15 runs scored, and 14 RBI to go along with a slugging percentage of .436. In a 4-3 loss to King's (Pa.) on March 7, he was 3-for-5 with two doubles and his first career home run.

In 93 career contests (67 starts), Ryan batted .255 (52-for-204) with 10 doubles, a triple, one home run, 25 runs scored, and 25 runs batted in. He also has the seventh-highest fielding percentage in program history (.972) and, in 14 career relief appearances as a pitcher, he posted a 2-2 record with a pair of saves, tying him for fifth on the program's all-time save list. In 12.2 innings of work he struck out 13 batters.
