BOSTON, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference announced its 2018 baseball all-conference teams and major award winners on Friday and Wentworth had a pair of student-athletes represented as senior outfielder Tim Elrick (Plymouth, Mass.) was named the league's senior scholar-athlete of the year and was a Second Team All-CCC selection while junior designated hitter Andrew Elliott (Rockland, Mass.) was a Third Team All-CCC selection.

A three-year starter and a captain of the Leopards this season, Elrick has enjoyed the finest offensive season of his career as he is batting .373 (28-for-75) with a pair of doubles, a triple, three stolen bases, 12 runs scored, and 19 runs batted in. He also has an on-base percentage of .484. He leads the team in batting average and on-base percentage, is tied for first with 14 walks and is second with 19 RBI. He had a career-high three RBI in a win over Anna Maria on March 10, and his lone triple of the season drove in the go-ahead runs in a 9-7, eight-inning win over Nichols on April 20. For his career he has played in 99 games (88 starts) with a batting average of .306 (86-for-281) with nine doubles, three triples, 17 stolen bases, 26 runs scored, and 41 RBI.

While Elrick's numbers on the field this season are impressive, the recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture has been just as impressive off the field. A two-time Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Academic selection, he has been involved with the department's student-athlete advisory committee since his freshman year and is the committee's president this year. Tim is also involved with numerous clubs and organizations on campus, including the Wentworth table tennis club which he founded during his freshman year. His academic achievements also include being a member of three honor societies: Tau Sigma Delta, Tau Alpha Pi, and Chi Alpha Sigma. Elrick also served as a marshal at Wentworth's spring Commencement and was the recipient of the Wentworth Bowl, the highest honor given to a graduating senior. He is the fifth Leopard student-athlete to earn the league's senior scholar-athlete of the year award this year and the first Leopard baseball player since current assistant coach Pete Oggeri '10 to win the award.

Elliott has started all 29 of the Leopards' games this season, 22 of which have been as the team's DH. He has a .309 (29-for-94) batting average with seven doubles, two home runs, 14 runs scored, and 18 runs batted in. He also has a slugging percentage of .447 and an on-base percentage of .398. Elliott is tied for the team lead with his two home runs while his 29 hits rank him fourth, his seven doubles are third, and his 18 RBI are third among his teammates. He had a career-best three hits in a win over SUNY Poly on March 9, and his second home run of the season helped extend the Black & Gold's lead over Curry in a game they would eventually win, 8-7, clinching a spot in the CCC Tournament for the first time since 2014.

In addition to Elrick being named the CCC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, major awards were also bestowed on Western New England's Alex Loparco (player of the year), Bob Hamel (pitcher of the year, and Dan Gomez (co-coach of the year), Curry's Justin Gage (defensive player of the year), Gordon's Joe Pedulla (rookie of the year), and Roger Williams' Jason Towner (co-coach of the year). Voting for the All-CCC teams and each of the major awards was conducted by the conference's nine baseball head coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

Wentworth (13-16, 8-8 CCC) is the number five seed in the upcoming CCC Tournament and will take on fourth-seeded Endicott on Saturday at Salve Regina.
