SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Student-athletes from 10 different institutions in The Commonwealth Coast Conference were represented on the 2011 All-TCCC Men's Lacrosse Team, it was announced today by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye. In addition to the all-conference team, winners of five major individual awards and the team sportsmanship award were also selected. Wentworth senior defenseman Bill Ainslie (Hanover, Mass.) earned Honorable Mention All-TCCC.
A three-year starter and two-year captain of the Leopards, Ainslie started all 13 of Wentworth's games this past season, scoring two points on a goal and an assist, while picking up 51 ground balls and causing 32 turnovers, both of which led the team. In 10 conference games he caused 28 turnovers and picked up 37 ground balls. He picked up nine ground balls in a 16-6 loss to Roger Williams and had six caused turnovers in a 12-11 loss to Curry.
For his career he started 45 of the 55 games in which he played, scoring two goals and assisting on three others for five points. His 192 ground balls rank him second in program history and he caused 80 turnovers, including 55 over the last two seasons.
Wentworth finished the season with a 3-10 record, including posting a 1-9 record in TCCC play.
