Trinity Defeats Men's Lacrosse at Home

BOSTON, Mass. – On a frigid Sweeney Field, the Trinity College men's lacrosse team (2-2) defeated the Wentworth Institute of Technology (2-4) 25-4 in non-conference action Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Trinity scored seven goals in the opening 8:01 of the first frame. A goal by freshman Colin Ocampo (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.) on the man-advantage 4:02 later marked a 7-1 score.
  • After a Trinity goal ended the first quarter, the visitors rattled off six-straight before a goal by sophomore Erik Vogt (Warwick, N.Y.) at the 3:12 mark brought the score to 14-2. A Trinity score with 17 seconds left in the second quarter marked a 15-2 score.
  • Trinity opened the third quarter with four-straight goals before a tally by junior Drew Bouley (Gloucester, Mass.) marked a 19-3 score. A Trinity strike with 18 seconds left in the third frame marked a 20-3 score.
  • Wentworth opened the scoring on the man-advantage in the fourth quarter as junior Logan Maklan (Boca Raton, Fla.) scored at the 13:55 mark. Trinity ended the contest scoring the next five, marking a 25-4 final score. Seven student-athletes tallied multi-goal games, led by senior Harrison Ike (Allentown, Pa.) with four.
  • Junior Patrick Blanchard (Schenectady, N.Y.) led the Leopards on draws, going 4-12 with two ground balls. In goal, sophomore Ryan Kalberer (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) made four saves before classmate Tom Gardner (West Windsor, N.J.) made 12.


SERIES NOTES:

  • Tonight marked the first-ever matchup between the two teams.
