BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Soccer team earned its seventh straight win with a 5-2 victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon to maintain its tie for first place in The Commonwealth Coast Conference.

Laurin Pendleton (Southwick, Mass.) struck first for Roger Williams in the fifth minute, with a long run through midfield, avoiding Leopard defenders before putting in a shot from the right side of the box to give RWU a 1-0 lead.

In the 20th minute, Wentworth would tie the game at one when Lucy Brown (Plainville, Conn.) took advantage of a failed clear by Roger Williams and put in a shot from the left side into the right corner.

The tie game lasted for about five minutes when Noelle Marston (Kingston, Mass.) knocked in a crossing pass from Devon Leighton (Scarborough, Maine) at the 25:09 mark to put RWU up one. Less than thirty seconds later, Pendleton grabbed a loose ball and took it all the way down the right side and converted for her second score of the game.

At the 52-minute mark, Pendleton notched her second hat trick of the season, taking an easy pass in the box from Marston and one-timing in the shot. Marston would later add a goal of her own, sending a chip off the cross bar and into the net.

Deborah Lesky (Newton, Mass.) knocked in a goal for Wentworth in the closing minute of the game, sending in a shot from the right side.

Kelsey McGee (Kings Park, N.Y.) earned her ninth win of the year, allowing one goal while making one stop. Kristen Darling (Weymouth, Mass.) played the final 12:09 of the game, letting in one score.

Jess Gardner (Wilbraham, Mass.) stopped 11 shots for the Leopards in a game that saw Roger Williams hold a 28-13 shot advantage to Wentworth.
