Emerson Outmatches Women's Soccer

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth women's soccer team saw their two-game win streak snap as Emerson College defeated the Leopards 3-0 on Tuesday evening at Rotch Field.  

Wentworth drops to 2-4 on the year while the Lions soar to 5-1 overall.

SCORING

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Emerson dominated the offensive third and owned a 27-3 advantage in shots, and opened the scoring in the 29th minute from Marie Bou Aziz.
  • Emerson scored its goal of insurance just over a minute into the second half, as Cali Bruce put away an unassisted marker.
  • Despite five saves in the second half from Allison Haynes (Shelton, Conn.), Bou Aziz netted her second of the match in the 71st minute, sealing the 3-0 win for the home team.

 

GOALKEEPERS

  • Haynes drops to 2-4 with nine saves in the effort.
  • Megan Rose improves to 5-1 without having to make a save in the win.

 

NOTEWORTHY

  • Emerson now leads the all-time series 8-3-1.
