Women's Tennis Defeated by Regis

WESTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Regis College in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon.

With the win the Pride improve to 11-7 on the season while the Leopards fall to 1-15.

In doubles play, Regis senior Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) teamed with junior Ariana McCormack (Worcester, Mass.) to defeat sophomore Ali Sollecito (Taunton, Mass.) and senior Ellen Butts (Brookfield, Mass.) at No. 1, 8-1. The No. 2 flight saw sophomore Carly Donovan (Harwich, Mass.) and freshman Katelyn Mogelincki (Wethersfield, Conn.) defeat juniors Sam McGibbon (Pembroke, Mass.) and Olivia DeLuca (Dracut, Mass.), 8-2. The Pride went ahead 3-0 as sophomore Ginger Boodakian (Burlington, Mass.) and freshman Oriana Attridge (Westwood, Mass.) won at No. 3, 8-1, over sophomore CiCi Deakin (Standish, Maine) and sophomore Hannah Erickson (Columbia, Conn.).

Mogelincki put the hosts ahead, 4-0, when she defeated Deakin at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Kaitlyn Colby (Merrimac, Mass.) clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win over freshman Kirsten Gramajo (Boston, Mass.) at No. 6. The No. 5 flight saw Booakian defeat Erickson, 6-1, 6-0, while McCormack defeated Butts at No. 2, 6-0, 6-0. Jarvis was a 6-2, 6-0 winner over McGibbon at No. 3 and Donovan defeated Sollecito at No. 1, 6-1, 6-2.
