Black History Month Student-Athlete Spotlight: Nile Keiller

Black History Month Student-Athlete Spotlight: Nile Keiller

In honor of Black History Month, Wentworth is celebrating some of our notable black student-athletes who have made an impact in their respective sports and in the Wentworth community. Today we highlight freshman Nile Keiller of the men's soccer team.

Why Wentworth?

  • I chose Wentworth to receive my degree for Mechanical Engineering but I also wanted to attend a school with an excellent soccer program. After finding Coach Erickson, the decision to attend Wentworth was easy.

Favorite snack?

  • My favorite snack is Old Bay chicken wings.

Your hype song?

  • I have multiple hype songs, but the most hype one that I must choose is EA by Young Nudy and 21 Savage.

Do you sing in the shower or in the car? Or both?

  • I do both but I enjoy the car more.

Is there a tradition, event, or food you enjoy with family and/or friends to celebrate your heritage?

  • There are a lot of events that I do to celebrate my heritage. I go to visit family often and we always have cookouts with all types of food you can think of. I always have events with my friends and the most fun events are cultural picnics.

Any game day superstitions?

  • I have several with the main one being just music. I have a certain playlist that I have to get through before the game to get me in the mood to play.

If you could have dinner with anyone in history, who would it be?

  • I would have to chose Malcolm X as he has influenced me in multiple different ways.

Could you share something about yourself you would like people to know?

  • One thing about myself that people should know about me is that I am always laid back but I am serious when the time is needed.
