BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman Owen Swanson (New Milford, Conn.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology baseball team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week. Swanson earns the honor for games played through March 5.

In Wentworth's two games – both played on March 5 – Swanson went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI. In a 17-6 win over New England College he came on as a pinch runner and scored a run and in his first at bat he hit a double and scored a run. In the nightcap of the doubleheader sweep of the Pilgrims, Swanson was 1-for-3 with an RBI. The RBI came in the bottom of the seventh as the Leopards walked-off New England College, 2-1.

In four games, Swanson is hitting .500 (4-for-8) with a double, four runs scored, and a run batted in. Wentworth is undefeated in its first four games of the season and is back in action on Wednesday in a doubleheader against Gwynedd Mercy.
