WORCESTER, Mass. – Keeon Tabrizi (Harvard, MA) capped a wild flurry of goals early in the second half by netting the game-winner at 54:52 to propel WPI to a entertaining 2-1 victory over visiting Wentworth in a non-conference men's soccer contest on Wednesday evening.  With the win, the Engineers up their record to 3-1 while Wentworth dips to 1-2.

After an uneventful first half, both teams came offensively minded to start the second half.  WPI dented the scoring column first when Chris Ciampa (Danvers, MA) picked up an attempted Wentworth clear and blasted it from just inside the 18 for his third tally of the season.

Wentworth answered back at 54:02 as Ben Nasman (Lenox, MA) threaded the needle perfectly on a long pass to John Golden (Whitman, MA), who got in alone and shot it past the goalie for his second marker of the year.  Less than a minute later Trabrizi provided the heroics when he knocked home a rebound after a Mike Ford (Whitman, MA) shot.  The goal was Trabrizi's second of the year and sixth of his career.

Paul Moan (Watertown, MA) was credited with a pair of saves in net for the Crimson and Gray.  The senior sees his record move to 2-1 this fall.  Brian Pearsall (Sanford, ME) was strong in between the pipes for Wentworth, registering nine stops.  The Leopard defensive effort was aided in the 79th minute by a clear off the goal line by Dave Fustino (Meriden, CT).

WPI held a 15-9 edge in shots while taking three of the night's five corner kicks.

Both teams return to action on Saturday.  WPI ventures to Framingham State for a 10am contest while Wentworth entertains Eastern Nazarene at 3pm in its The Commonwealth Coast Conference opener.
