Golden Bears Double up Leopards

BOSTON, Mass. – The Western New England men's tennis team took an early, 4-0 lead and never looked back as the Golden Bears defeated Wentworth in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference contest.

 

Western New England swept the three doubles matches, including at number two where the team of Nate Gove (Scarborough, Maine) and Ross Lyons (Madison, Conn.) fell, 9-7.

 

The Golden Bears upped the lead to 4-0 with a win at number four singles before Juan Rodriguez (Quito, Ecuador) won at number one singles and Joe Centola (Hopkinton, Mass.) took his match at number six singles to cut the lead in half.  Wins at number five and number three singles clinched the match for WNEC, while Dan Alexander (Merrimac, Mass.) battled to a three-set win at number two singles to account for the final score of 6-3.
