Men's Volleyball Voted Second in GNAC Preseason Poll

Boston, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team has been picked to finish second according to the 2020 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Poll as announced on Tuesday by the league office.

The Leopards finished with 55 total points, just below Rivier which garnered all eight first-place votes. Johnson & Wales checked in at third with 46 points, while Lasell rounded out the top four with 41 points.

Wentworth, which also received votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Preseason Poll, has a pair of GNAC titles to its name, including back-to-back crowns in 2016 and 2017.

Head Coach Evin Giglio enters his ninth season at the helm of the program, having taken the Black & Gold to the postseason for eight straight years since their start in the conference. The Leopards have competed in the Championship match for the past four seasons.

Graduating just one lone senior, the Leopards return a core of their roster from a year ago, while welcoming a handful of new talent. Included in the returning veterans is 2019 All-Conference selections Ryan Love (Gaithersburg, Md.), Augusto Rodriguez-Guerrios (San Juan, P.R.), Ryan Engel (Floral Park, N.Y.) and Peter Klembczyk (Penfield, N.Y.).

Wentworth kicks off the 2020 campaign at the SUNY Poly Wildcat Invitational on Friday, January 24th. The first match of the season will feature the #11 ranked Express of Wells College.
