PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Playing in its first match of the Columbus Day Weekend, the Wentworth golf team competed at the 2010 Rhode Island College Fall Invitational at the par 72, 6522-yard Triggs Memorial Golf Course. The Leopards carded a 371, which placed them 10th in the 10-team field.
Wentworth's 371 was five shots behind ninth-place Emmanuel (366) and 59 strokes behind tournament championship UMass Dartmouth, which placed three players in the top five, en route to a 312.
Freshman Dylan Powers (Amesbury, Mass.) paced the Leopards with an 87, which placed him 28th in the 50-player field. Sophomore Chris Lynch (Milton, Mass.) finished one stroke behind him with an 88, tying him for 29th place. Junior Patrick Clancy (Westfield, N.J.) finished 47th (97), while classmate Brian Henesey (Hingham, Mass.) shot a 99 to finish 48th. Junior Mike Rizzo (Dorchester, Mass.) also competed for Wentworth.
The Leopards return to the links on Sunday when they compete in the 2010 Bison Fall Invitational at Green Hill Country Club in Worcester, Mass.
