NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Sophomore Kyle Nadeau (Chicopee, Mass.) carded a season-low 85 on Saturday and followed that up with an 86 in Sunday's second round to pace the Wentworth golf team to a 15th-place finish (359-346—705) at the 2011 Hampton Inn Spring Invitational, hosted by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Both rounds were played at the Par 72, 6,703-yard Allendale Country Club.
Nadeau's 171 placed him 46th in the 88-player field, 16 shots behind the overall leader. Sophomores Nick Abaray (Acushnet, Mass.) and John Romanelli (Acushnet, Mass.) each shot a 175, with Abaray going 89-86 and Romanelli 95-80, to tie for 55th overall, while senior Drew Powers (Chelmsford, Mass.) 90-94-184, placing him in a tie for 72nd place.
Wentworth's 705 was eight shots back of 14th-place Elms and 68 shots behind champion Salem State, which finished with a 637. The Leopards close out the 2010-11 season at the Wildcat Invitational at Johnson & Wales next weekend.
