CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Freshman goalie Joel Miller (Calgary, Alta.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology ice hockey team has been named the ECAC Northeast Goalie of the Week for the week ending January 20.
Miller was instrumental in helping the Leopards secure their first home victory of the season as he stopped 30 of the 31 shots he faced in a 3-1 win over Curry. After allowing a goal at 14:16 of the first period, Miller kept the Colonels off the scoreboard over the final 45:14, making 20 of his 30 saves during this stretch.
Having played in eight of the team's 16 games to date, Miller is 5-2-0 with a 2.04 goals against average and a .924 save percentage for the 8-7-1 (4-2-0 ECAC Northeast) Leopards, who are at league-leading Western New England on Thursday.
