Men's Soccer Shut Out by Babson

BABSON PARK, Mass. – Senior Salo Guindi (Mexico City, Mexico) converted a cross from sophomore Ben Pasquariello (Danvers, Mass.) at the 62:00 while senior Peter Crowley (Lexington, Mass.) made four saves as the 14th-ranked Babson College men's soccer team (1-2-0) blanked Wentworth, 1-0, in a non-league contest played at Hartwell-Rogers Field.

The host Beavers controlled play early, outshooting the Leopards 5-1 in the game's first 10 minutes, including hitting the post in the third minute and putting a pair of shots on goal. Despite Babson holding a 12-3 shot advantage over the first 45:00, the game remained scoreless at the break.

Wentworth applied pressure to open the second half and put a shot on goal in the 58th minute. However, Pasquariello served a long cross from the left wing to Guindi, whose first touch eluded Leopard junior keeper John Longo (Needham, Mass.) and provided the game's only goal.

Longo finished the contest with 10 saves for Wentworth, which was outshot 17-9 for the contest.

The Leopards (0-1-1) return to action on Thursday, September 8, at 7:00 when they will face Lesley in their home-opener. The Beavers (1-2) will play host to Daniel Webster on Tuesday, September 6 in a 4:00 start at home.
