HENNIKER, N.H. – Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer forward Stephanie Crockett (Bedford, Mass.) would net the game-winner with just under five minutes remaining in the opening half to lift the Leopards past New England College 1-0 Monday afternoon.  With the win the Leopards improve to 4-9-0 overall and 3-5-0 in conference play.  The loss drops the Pilgrims to 5-6-2 overall and 3-4-1 in the conference.

The two teams would battle through much of the first half scoreless before Crockett would take advantage of a Leopard free kick netting her third goal of the season to put Wentworth up 1-0.

Wentworth would get a scoring opportunity at the 67:04 mark as Elizabeth Somma (Windham, Maine) would fire a shot that would ricochet off the crossbar.  NEC's best chance to get on the board would come in the 71st minute as sophomore Amy Ordile (Winchendon, Mass.) would get a shot on net but Leopard keeper Jess Gardner (Wilbraham, Mass.) would record her fifth save of the afternoon keeping the Pilgrims off the board.

The Leopards would finish the game leading the Pilgrims in shots 13-5 and hold the 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Gardner would pick up the shutout win in net finishing with five saves.  In net for NEC was Kerry Hughes (Wallkill, N.Y.) who recorded eight saves on the afternoon.

New England College will be back in action on Thursday, Oct. 15 when they travel to take on conference opponent Regis College at 4:00 p.m.  Wentworth will host conference opponent Salve Regina University on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 7:00 p.m.
