BIDDEFORD, Maine – After each team scored less than six minutes apart in the first half, neither the Wentworth Institute of Technology nor University of New England women's soccer teams would find the back of the net for the remainder of the contest as the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in Commonwealth Coast Conference action.

The Leopards now stand at 5-6-2 overall and 1-3-1 in CCC play while the Nor'Easters extend their unbeaten streak to four (3-0-1) and are 8-2-1 (3-1-1). This marked the third straight contest, including last year's CCC Quarterfinal, between the two squads that went into overtime.

Wentworth three shots early on, including one off of a corner kick, and put two of the three attempts on net. However, sophomore Brielle Robinson (Monson, Mass.) made a pair of saves to keep the Leopards off the board.

At the 17:43 mark, the Black & Gold took a 1-0 lead when sophomore Mary Annon (Concord, N.H.) netted her second marker of the season. Annon took a free kick from 40 yards out, which bounced once and went inside of the left post.

UNE evened the score at 1-all at the 23:00 mark when freshman Becca Murphy (Durham, N.H.) fed junior Tori Field (Woolwich, Maine). Field took a low shot, which originally deflected off of the post and crossed the goal line.

Late in the first half, the Nor'Easters had three corner kicks and got a shot off on one of them. Sophomore Maria Philbrick (Scarborough, Maine) took a shot off of the third corner, which was saved by Leopard senior Beverly Farris (Palmer, Mass.).

Wentworth held a 6-4 shot advantage through the first 45 minutes with three of those six going on net.

In the second half the Leopards had a 10-3 shot advantage, with four of those shots going on net. The Leopards' best chance came in the 64th minute on a senior Olivia Moore (Salem, Conn.) attempt and had a chance with 49 seconds left, however senior Tori Armishaw's (Scarborough, Maine) bid went wide of the goal.

UNE took the only shot of the first overtime; a shot that went wide right with under three minutes left.

In the second overtime, the Leopards outshot the Nor'Easters 3-1, with one of the three shots going on net. Robinson made a save on a freshman Emily Richard (Fremont, N.H.) bid with 1:58 remaining in the contest.

Farris made three saves for the Leopards and Robinson stopped seven shots for UNE. Wentworth held a 19-9 shot advantage for the game and held a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.

Wentworth plays its final non-conference game of the season on Thursday night when the Leopards host Framingham State. UNE hosts Southern Maine on Tuesday night.
