Men's Tennis Wraps up Successful Campaign

HAMILTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team (10-10) wrapped up one of its most successful seasons in recent years as the Leopards were defeated by Gordon in the opening round of the 2024 CCC Men's Tennis Tournament, played The Pingree School.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • After falling behind, 2-0, in doubles play, Wentworth avoided the sweep when senior Daniel Gallegos (Monterrey, Mexico) and junior Pranav Marwaha (Nashua, N.H.) collected at win at the No. 2 flight, prevailing 8-7 (7-2).
  • The Fighting Scots claimed wins at No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles to advance to Wednesday's semifinals. Three matches were unfinished, including at No. 6 where junior Niko Rosich (Chicago, Ill.) had won the first set.
  • Gallegos ends his decorated career in a Leopard uniform third all-time in both singles and doubles with 30 wins in each.
