BEVERLY, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's outdoor track and field team continued their strong season Tuesday morning as freshman Gabe Silva (Wareham, Mass.) earned weekly recognition from the Commonwealth Coast Conference. Silva was named CCC Track Rookie of the Week for his performance at the Tufts Sunshine Classic, with the award being for meets ran across April 15-21.

Silva broke a program record in the 100M as his 11.24 mark in preliminaries set a new program best before he finished seventh in his official run. The rookie capped his day with a 13^th place finish in the 200M (23.02).

Silva and the Black & Gold compete next at the CCC Championship on Saturday.
