Cross Country Places Second at UNE Invitational

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Juniors Dan McSolla (Bridgewater, Mass.) and Alex Robbins (Mansfield, Mass.) finished third and fourth, respectively, to help the Wentworth Institute of Technology cross country team take second place at the 2016 University of New England Invitational.

The Leopards amassed a team score of 79 points which was four points more than the host Nor'Easters who finished first among the 13 teams competing. Gordon's Damon Kilgore won the 154-runner race in a time of 25:35.

McSolla crossed the line in a time of 26:15 which was followed by Robbins, who finished with a time of 26:51. Sophomore Jonah Eisman (New York, N.Y.) placed 15th with a time of 28:52, senior David Ouellette (Wells, Maine) was 19th with a time of 29:14, and sophomores Nathan Ouellette (Wells, Maine) and Josh Gangemi (Norton, Mass.) each crossed the line with a time of 30:29. Ouellette was awarded 38 points to round out Wentworth's scorers.

Sophomore Chris Kaberle (Pelham, N.H.) finished 93rd after he crossed the line in a time of 33:36.

Wentworth will compete at the Bowdoin Invitational on Sept. 24.
