Weston, Mass.—The Regis College (9-32, TCCC 6-18) women's softball team would wrap up their 2010 season on two losses to Wentworth Institute of Technology (13-23-1, TCCC 8-17-1) 7-5 and 11-0.

The Pride would take an early lead in Game one as sophomore catcher Molly Teixeira (Rindge, NH) would start the rally with a single right up the middle to give the Pride confidence at the plate.  From there, the Pride would go through more than half of their lineup in the first inning alone.  At the end of game one, Teixeira would hit a perfect 3-3 at the plate.  Teixeira would produce the best performance from the plate for the Pride going 4-7 on the day.

Another Regis standout was junior third baseman Shannon Hurley (Billerica, Mass.) finished 3-5 for the day.

For Wentworth, junior outfielder Jen Giudice (Central, Valley, NY) ended her day 4-9 from the plate.  Along with junior catcher Bridget Souza (Medford, Mass.) who rocketed a 3-run homer in the seventh inning to give the Leopards the 5-4 lead.  Souza would finish her day at the plate 3-8.

The Leopards ace Senior Caylee Johanson (Windsor, Conn.) would finish her collegiate career with two wins today.  Johanson finished the day in 13 innings pitched, recorded three strikeouts, walked one and allowed 14 total hits in which Regis could not respond with many runs in return.  She would also go 3-8 from the plate.

The Pride's ace Sophomore Kendra Abram (Acushnet, Mass.) threw a combined total of 13 innings and recorded a strikeout.

In game one, the first two innings remained scoreless until would score the first run of the game.  After six innings the Pride led 4-2, until the Wentworth bats would wake up in the final inning to score five runs which led to a victory.  As a team the Leopards of Wentworth would total 11 hits matched to Regis' 8 hits for the game.

In game two, Regis would record three crucial errors to give Wentworth the early lead, as they would go on to score three runs on four hits early in the game.  A little sign of fire would be shown by the Pride as they would go through their entire batting order to rally four hits in the third inning.  Not until the fourth inning Wentworth would score three more runs to give them the 6-0 lead midway through game two.  A late rally by the Leopards would force the game to end due to a 10-run mercy rule.  Wentworth finished game two with 13 hits and no errors compared to Regis' six hits on the day.
