BIDDEFORD, Maine – Senior midfielder Sarah Galan (Colchester, Conn.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team was named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference Second-Team, as announced by the conference Friday afternoon.
Galan, who was named to the second team last season as well, had the best season of her career in her senior year, setting new career highs in goals and points per game. The senior scored 50 goals on the season, leading the team and ranking fourth in single-season program history. Her .481 shooting percentage was a new career-best, and she scored one game winner as well while also collecting 33 ground balls and causing 14 turnovers. On March 15 in a home game against the University of Maine-Farmington, she set a new single-game record, scoring 12 goals on the night as the Leopards picked up a 24-2 victory. She also provided nine assists, the second-highest total of her career, and had 53 draw controls.
Galan finished the regular season ranked second all-time in points, goals, shots, and draw controls.
The Leopards are back on the field at Endicott College Friday, April 29, as they compete in the first round of the CCC Tournament. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
