BOSTON, Mass. – After four seasons, Wentworth Institute of Technology Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Hannah Pelletier has stepped down from her position. Director of Athletics Cheryl Aaron accepted Pelletier's resignation.
"We are thankful to Hannah for her many contributions to the women's lacrosse program," said Aaron. "She helped to elevate the team to new heights including their first post-season appearance in 2019 and again this past season. We wish her the very best in her next venture."
Pelletier served as an assistant coach with the program for four seasons before being elevated to head coach in June, 2018. In her first season, she led the Leopards to a program-best nine wins (9-7) and the program's first-ever appearance in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament. This past season the Black & Gold made a return trip to the postseason after the previous two seasons were hampered by COVID-19 canceling the season after four games in 2020 and playing a limited, conference-only schedule in 2021.
In addition to setting the program record for wins in 2019, Wentworth set program records in numerous categories, including goals, assists, points, draw controls won, and caused turnovers. In her four seasons she coached six All-CCC selections, including Sarah Galan '22, who was both the program's first-ever major award winner (rookie of the year, 2019) and the program's first-ever three-time All-CCC selection.
"I would like to thank the Wentworth Athletic department for giving me the opportunity to be part of this organization and coach at this level for the past eight years," said Pelletier. "I have been lucky enough to watch this program grow as an assistant for four seasons then as a head coach for the past four seasons. Most of all I have been lucky enough to work with some amazing coaches and student-athletes who have become my second family over these years. I also would like to thank the families of the student-athletes who have been amazing fans and just an amazing support system for this program. I look forward to watching this program grow and flourish in this competitive conference in the future."
