INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Endicott got on the board at the 1:22 mark of the first, as Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn.) got the first goal of the game to give Endicott an early lead. Morgan Pike (Shapleigh, Maine) then added a pair of goals as the Gulls scored four in a 1:18 span to go ahead by five. After another goal by Pike and one by Katy Garvin (Mansfield, Mass.), a free-position goal gave the home team an 8-0 lead. A pair of late goals extended it to a 10-goal differential heading into the second quarter. Senior goalkeeper Lily Kuhns (Gloucester, Mass.) made six saves for the Leopards in the opening quarter.
  • Pike scored a pair of early goals for Endicott in the second, as they grew their lead to 12-0. Two minutes later, Alex Palermo (Reading, Mass.) scored to extend the lead to 13. Wentworth had a chance to get on the board before the end of the quarter, but a shot by freshman defender Reilly Walter (Scarborough, Maine) was stopped by Endicott goalkeeper Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.), who picked up the win in net for the Gulls.
  • After another goal early in the third for Endicott, the Leopards came back looking to pick up their first goal of the day, but a shot off the stick of sophomore attack Olivia Murray (Quincy, Mass.) rang off the post. The Gulls added one more with three minutes left, but Wentworth was able to get on the board shortly after. Junior midfielder Helen Hamblett (East Boothbay, Maine) scored with just over a minute remaining in the third, picking up the first goal in Leopards postseason history as the period came to a close.
  • The Leopards were outscored 4-0 in the fourth quarter, as Endicott didn't allow a shot and forced five turnovers. Kuhns made two more saves for Wentworth in the final period, but Endicott took a 19-1 victory in the opening round of the CCC Tournament.
