BOSTON, Mass. – Three members of the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer team have been named to the Commonwealth Coast All-Conference Team, as announced by the league office on Friday afternoon.
Senior Taylor Patti (Pittsfield, Mass.) earned a spot on the second team, while junior Jess Poratti (Essex Junction, Vt.) and sophomore Molly Donahue (Quincy, Mass.) were named to the third team.
Patti, who earns her first all-conference nod, backstopped the Leopards in 17 games, starting in 14 of them. In addition to her solid defensive efforts, she also contributed with three points with one goal and one assist, including the game-winner in a 2-1 non-conference victory over Emerson.
Donahue repeats as an All-CCC selection, as her rookie campaign landed her a spot on the second team. Donahue controlled the middle for the Black & Gold, helping the Leopards on both ends of the field, scoring three goals with one assist as an outside midfielder. Two of Donahue's goals were game-winners, one of which propelled the Leopards to their first conference victory of the season against Nichols.
Poratti led the team in all major offensive categories with 16 points, six goals, and four assists to earn her first all-conference honor. Poratti started at forward for all 18 games this season, and scored one game-winner in Wentworth's historic win at Roger Williams on October 20th. Poratti set the Leopards up for their playoff push with the go-ahead goal, giving Wentworth its first-ever win in Bristol. Beyond her scoring numbers, Poratti also set up a goal apiece in the Leopards' final two games of the regular season at Roger Williams and UNE.
Wentworth is set to face Gordon College on Sunday for the CCC Quarterfinal Match. This will be the second straight Quarterfinal meeting between the two teams, with kickoff slated for 2:00 p.m. at the Brigham Athletic Complex in Wenham, Mass.
